Celebrations

Had a brilliant time at our son's 40th surprise party have posted picture on Facebook if anyone interested to see. It was wonderful to meet all his friends that I remember as little boys visiting my home in their lunch hours from school. I got so many bear hugs from these strapping big men when we met again. Some after many years and others who had become life long friends with my sons. It did my heart good to see them all together again with their families and enjoying themselves.
Anyway I digress, the family are now safely away on a two weeks holiday so I can now publish the rest of the cards that I made for their birthdays. Here is the first one today...

This one is for my grand-daughter's 16th birthday when she comes home. It was difficult to decide what to make but as they have a small dog I decided on this image. The die-cut is mounted on two layers then I did the tag with a ribbon around it's neck added the numbers, butterfly and sentiment. Another cute one I think.
Haste ye back..........

The month of May

Oh dear, I have been neglecting my poor blog a lot lately. I celebrated another birthday on the first and received some lovely cards from friends and family so thank you all especially the handmade ones.
Birthday flowers from OH

The ongoing saga with my diabetes continues and I have had a reprieve until the 20th to give the new pills a chance. My blood sugars are starting to go down so I am forever hopeful. I have had to cut down even more on my carbohydrates as they seem to think this will help with my weight and the bloods, also if I go on insulin it could be a real problem. I'm not hopeful though as after trying for the past 50 years there is not much I can be told about dieting. Maybe I should write my own book only nothing has worked longterm so wouldn't be a bestseller anytime soon!

Bought some crafting goodies, first time this year so am hopeful I will feel like playing with them and post the results on here over the next few days.
Bye for now and haste ye back..........

Hectic Weekend

Have had a hectic and tiring weekend! Yesterday we went through to Aberdeen and took my brother out to lunch for his birthday. We had a really enjoyable time and vowed to do it more often. We had thought that Mike's brother would join us too but he just couldn't make it, maybe next time.
Mike was making funny comments to make us laugh when he took this photo of my brother and me. I don't have many of the two of us so will cherish it.

Today it was back to hard work unfortunately for both of us. The painter finished our bedroom on Friday but we had to leave the gloss paint to dry before we could clean up the room. It was particularly messy as the last owners had polystyrene tiles on all the ceilings which we hated, hence the big clean-up! Every bit of my body aches after spending all day doing the big clean, so think it will be an early night tonight. Tomorrow I might tackle the curtains and bedding will see, so am to tired to do any crafting!

Dr Who

On a roll today just made this card for my other son who's birthday is next week. He is a great fan of Dr Who since he was a little boy so always try and do something with that in mind. Hope he likes this year's one! Did it on my greetings card factory CD, added the image and some embellishments. Hope it does not look to girly, couldn't get the picture right because I have used pearlised papers so the flash shines to much on it. What do you think folks?

Clock

Took a break from stamping and cards to make this clock for my son and DIL. He is very fussy so I do hope they like it. Your opinions are very welcome.

The papers are by Cloud 9 Design and called Razzberry Torte. Hearts, brads from stash.
