Today's efforts

Had a quiet weekend, OH was working Saturday stocktaking so he came home pretty tired. Over the weekend we received word from OH's cousin in Canada that his mother had died. She was a lovely lady and we have fond memories of holidays with her and her husband.
I made this card to send over and added one of my crochet flowers as a keepsake for her daughter. I do hope she likes it.

I made it up from my PC Crafter program and added the verses from another program I have. I finished off with the crochet flower and brad.

I also did another card in a similar fashion for a work colleague of OH who lives and works in Houston. The lady has recently retired so I thought this one would make her smile.

The picture has been printed twice then mounted with foam squares. A little glamour dust has been added and a ribbon to finish it off.

More crochet

Just a few photos of my latest crochet work. I finally managed to do the small flowers I wanted to master so feel confident enough now to make them with crochet thread and and not with my practice wool. Hope you like them.

I am so excited, just finished my first piece of crochet work following a pattern. Okay it is still done with wool but will get the proper crochet wool to try out a pattern with later. Expecting my grand-daughters any minute now for a sleepover so better go and get ready.

Crochet

I feel so guilty as I have been neglecting my poor blog something terrible. My only excuse is that I have not been doing anything exciting at the moment. I did go to my crafting class at the local church last Tuesday, and the ladies are such a lovely bunch and so kind and helpful.
I did some more of my crocheting and the lady teaching me has now got me reading a pattern. I will post the finished project soon but in the meantime here is a photo of my little practice piece.

Learning a new skill

Tuesday already, had a quiet weekend and stayed in because of the horrible snow! Didn't do much yesterday either but ventured out this morning to one of the local churches to meet some crafting ladies and have lunch with them. They turned out a really nice friendly bunch and one lady called Sheila is in the process of learning me to crochet. My mum did try years ago but I could never get the hang of it. Found my hands got quite painful after a while so not sure how much I will be able to do with my arthritis but will persevere. Going back next week anyway and she is going to get me to follow a pattern so that will be fun!
