Well here we are in 2010 and I hope all my followers and crafting friends had a lovely Christmas and New Year. Myself and hubby had a lovely Christmas with the family then unfortunately my lovely no 1 son decided to share his cold with us so we were laid up from Boxing day until after the New Year. It was very, very quiet with the horrendous weather we are having and so treacherous on the pavements and roads that I have been stuck in the house. Today is the first day I have ventured out via hubby and the car and only downtown to get my new spectacles and a few messages then home again.
We did get forms to renew our passports and got some passport photos [ugh] the second stage in organising our holiday this year. The first stage was booking the fights which is in September to Canada for three months, we are so looking forward to it. Hubby retires then hence the long holiday to see family and friends over there.No cards or crafting yet but hoping to get back to it soon. Take care and haste ye back... 
Well after a great start I have not been able to get online again. At the moment my computer is in getting fixed and I am using hubby's notebook which is why no photos of my latest cards are available. Once my computer is back am hoping to upload the cards I have done so far.
Meanwhile, I was up in Aberdeen babysitting my grand-daughters and their dog, Poppy for the last three days. Enjoyed myself and got to spend some quality time with the girls. Went out a few walks with Poppy and she and I got on well she is a lovely loveable dog and surprisingly I am missing her.
Went shopping in the HobbyCraft store in the new centre Union Square but found although lovely shop prices expensive can get some things cheaper online. Bought some Christmas papers and a few bits and bobs. Am sitting here surrounded with my craft stuff, shawl around my shoulders as it is so cold and damp today so must get started doing some stamping.

Well Mother's Day has come and gone and it's always a sad time of year for me as I lost my mum almost 6 years ago. My sons did me proud though and we all went out for a meal as it was my DIL's birthday the same day. I received a lovely bunch of flowers and a patio rose plant for the garden from my youngest son and his wife. My oldest son, DIL and grand-daughters gave me such a lovely surprise. He had my grandfather's WWI medals and the letter from the Admiralty stating he went down with his ship the HMS Goliath and a letter from King George V
send with the memorial medal for those who died in WWI, all
mounted in a wonderful frame. I just love it.
One of the medals is missing but I am hoping I can get a replacement once I find out how to go about it.I am off on holiday on Saturday for a week so no postings on the blog for a while. I am looking forward to the break as I am still not feeling 100% so hoping I will feel refreshed when I come back.

Haven't had much time to craft these last few days had the doctor on Wednesday and now on an extra pill [over and above all the rest that I take]for my blood pressure. The doctor is not happy with it lately as it has been higher on each visit to the surgery. Started taking them today so will see how I get on.
Yesterday OH was off work as he had to go through some tests too as they are concerned for his blood sugar count. I do hope he does not have to go onto pills like me for diabetes as he has enough to cope with. It doesn't sound to bad as his blood sugars were 6.2 and that is good to me as I never seem to get below 7. something but of course I am no expert!
Off out this afternoon to a craft event at the local community centre with a friend, so that should be interesting. Will have to wrap up warmly as it is soooo cold today. Where-ever you are wrap up to and take care. Have a good weekend folks!
