Weather

After two days of rain and miserable weather, the sun is shining again! Beautiful day so I am taking myself off to have lunch with OH and do a bit of shopping. Looking forward to going to our favourite place to eat but now under 'New Management' so we will be comparing notes. Hope everyone has a brilliant weekend, take care all!

Trudy

What a dull and miserable day, looks like the weather down south has finally caught up with us and all our beautiful sunshine has disappeared!
Well my crafting class yesterday went down like a bomb but I at least got two ladies who were interested and with a little coaching managed to make two lovely cards. One lady Trudy was a dear, and I have been told on good authority that she is going around the home today, showing everyone her card she made - that news alone has made my day!

Here is a picture of Trudy proudly showing off her card.

Craft class

Here we are and it's Tuesday again and I am feeling a bit nervous as this is the big day for me - my first crafting class. I go back this afternoon as volunteer [on probation may I add] at the sheltered housing complex. I am hoping I will get at least 6 people who want to have a go at the crafting and have made up 7 packs just in case [ever optimistic me].

Here is a picture of the card I am hoping they will want to make - what do you think?

Tilda

Well here we are the start of another week and after such a beautiful sunny weekend, long may it continue. We sorely need some sunshine in our bones! Sat out yesterday and made these two cards - my first Tilda ones!

I loved doing them and my grand-daughter got a hold of one of my images and proceeded to make one of her own for her little friends birthday. Sorry to say I didn't manage to take a picture of her work, as she did really well and she is only 10 years old.

Garden

Funny kind of morning today, doesn't know whether to be dull or the sun to shine, cannot seem to make up its mind. Still cold though, so having second thoughts about doing anything in the garden today. Went out and took a couple of pictures of it though they don't do it justice. The plants are all beginning to come alive and the mixture of the colours of the shrubs are lovely just now.

Stonehaven

Well here I am back online again a little lighter in the pocket after paying for my computer to be serviced but hopefully now all the bugs are gone that kept popping their ugly heads up!
Met my friend today and had a lovely lunch and we chatted for ages then had a browse around Stonehaven. Not a very nice day, which was a pity, as we had intended going down to the sea and have a nice stroll along the front but far too cold, brrrr! Feels like we are back in winter mode again, hope not.

Morning

Morning folks, not such a good day so far - dull and miserable. Hopefully it will clear up later as hubbie has promised to take me out for a while - where is a mystery! Won't be able to tell you later as my computer man is coming soon to take it away for a service. I will be without it for a couple of days, so will feel like my right arm is cut off! Will be going to Stonehaven on Friday to met up with my pal, Sheila for lunch so that will keep me out of mischief for a while. Here's hoping the sun will come out where you are. x

Harlan Coben

Well didn't feel like doing much today so took out my latest Harlan Coben book 'Hold Tight' and sat down for a good read. I wasn't disappointed - held my attention all the way through and finished just when the weather was brightening up.
Took myself off into the garden watered and fed my plants and pot plants and planted some begonias that I was growing on in the kitchen. Planted some nasturtiums a few weeks ago and they are already coming through - can't wait to see them flower as they are some new varieties that I bought from seed.
That's all today folks, hope you had a good one!

My first Blog

This is all so new to me but I'll give it a try as it looks fun!
A while ago I decided I wanted to do something more with my life and on reading a newspaper article in the local 'rag' decided to do some volunteer work. After a long process which I won't bore you with I went along to my first session of volunteering today in a sheltered housing complex run by a non-profit organisation with charitable status.
I was a bit nervous as I had initially volunteered to hold some craft classes but on meeting the people said I would be willing to meet and chat with the residents and any in particular who didn't get much visitors.

Today being my first visit and I met and chatted with about 9 of the residents over a cup of tea and some biscuits in their common room. It was lovely meeting these people and getting to know a little about them and their interests. Next week I have agreed to hold a class in card-making so watch this space!
